What Human Food Can French Bulldogs Eat

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

Peanut Butter:

French bulldogs can eat peanut butter, but only in moderation and not every day. You must avoid feeding peanut butter to a Frenchie if the product contains xylitol as this ingredient is dangerous to dogs. Most peanut butters will contain aflatoxins, harmful fats, and sugar which are not good for a dog.

Coconut Oil:

The high levels of saturated fats in Coconut Oil are actually what does the trick. This healthy fat can aid in weight loss, immune system, digestion, thyroid health, and more! he only important thing to remember if you want to supplement coconut oil in yourfrenchbulldog’s diet or use it on their skin is this: make sure it’s 100% pure coconut oil.

Pretzels:

If your dog has a taste for pretzels, too, feel free to share! They're not unhealthy for dogs. They're essentially just bread, after all. But keep in mind that, unsalted pretzels are much better treats to toss your dog than salted pretzels. If you're going to share this snack with man's best friend, go with a no-salt or low-sodium variety.

Pasta:

Dogs can eat pasta, which is really nothing more than flour and water, and sometimes eggs. All of these ingredients are safe for dogs, so any variety of pasta is safe for most dogs, although it's probably best to hold the commercial pasta sauce, as these are usually acidic, and contain a lot of sugar and salt, all of which can upset your dog's tummy. Also, keep in mind that some dogs are allergic to wheat. If your dog is one of these, leave pasta off the menu.

Peppermint:

Peppermint is strong but safe for dogs. Try using it as an ingredient if you bake your own homemade dog biscuits. It may help freshen up our pal's nasty breath, and since peppermint has long been used to help settle upset tummies, you can even use it to help Rex feel better the next time he's a bit "barfy."

Rice:

French Bulldogs can eat plain, cooked, white rice. Never feed a Frenchie seasoned rice or uncooked rice. Rice has the potential to soothe a stomach ache and offer an easy to digest meal for a dog who is recovering from diarrhea or vomiting.

Eggs:

French bulldogs can eat eggs safely, boiled, cooked or scrambled. In fact, they can even eat egg shells as long as the meal is prepared correctly. Eggs can be a good source of protein and nutrition and can help settle their stomach after illness.

Bread:

Dogs can safely eat bread in much the same way as humans—in moderation. Plain white and wheat bread is generally safe for dogs to eat, provided they don't have any allergies, and it usually does not cause any stomach upset.
